The TeamELLEN FRICK - Director and ProducerEllen's documentary work focuses on people facing extraordinary challenges, and undergoing powerful changes. She has been on the production team for several recent projects broadcast on PBS affiliated television stations. These include: PERFECT ILLUSIONS: EATING DISORDERS AND THE FAMILY, a one-hour PBS documentary exploring the role of the family in the development of eating disorders in teenage girls; PIKE PLACE MARKET: THE SOUL OF A CITY, an HDTV documentary about the rich history, community and culture of Seattle's world-famous public market; and THE RHONA DISASTER, a one-hour documentary for PBS and The History Channel, about the sinking of a troop ship in WWII. Ellen worked with Gretchen Burger on LIFE BEYOND EARTH, a PBS production exploring the scientific evidence for and against the possibility of extra-terrestrial life. Until ten years ago Ellen Frick was a registered professional engineer in Washington, Alaska, Minnesota, and Arkansas. MARC PINGRY - Director of Photography Marc's fifteen Emmy Awards for Photography are testimony to his over 20 years of documentary field production. His specialty over the last ten years has been in HDTV production in projects for both PBS and NHK/Japan (Japan's national public broadcaster). Marc has been the principal cameraman for all twelve of the PBS Television aerial specials under the "OVER" umbrella title, including CHIHULY OVER VENICE, the first-ever HDTV documentary special to air in HD on PBS. Marc has worked on numerous nationally-broadcast documentary productions from Africa to Europe to Asia. His works spans from PBS' NEWS HOUR to feature film camerawork. GRETCHEN BURGER - Editor and Co-Producer Gretchen was Associate Producer on two award winning documentaries. TRADE OFF won Best Documentary at the Seattle International Film Festival in 2000. LOVE, ALL THAT AND MORE won a Northwest Emmy award in 2001. TRADE OFF is about the WTO meeting and protests in Seattle in 1999. LOVE, ALL THAT AND MORE is about the interpersonal and sexual dynamics of teen dating. She has been on the production teams for THE NEWSHOUR WITH JIM LEHRER; SCI- SQUAD, a Discovery Channel children's science show; and LIFE BEYOND EARTH, a PBS production exploring scientific evidence for and against the possibility of extra- terrestrial life. RAFE PEARLMAN - Composer Rafe is a Seattle-based singer-songwriter. As lead singer and songwriter for the world folk trio Riveroots, his seminal release, THE WANDERING ROAD, blended rock, folk, blues and ethnic/world music. In 2002, Rafe released a solo album entitled IN MOMENT ,which featured diverse instrumentals and broad stylistic approach. Rafe has shared the stage with Babatunde Olatunji, Zakir
Hussain, George Brooks, Jai Uttal, Sky Cries Mayr, Joanne Rand, Ashish Khan, Paul Winter. He has performed nationally and internationally, including the Shantipi International Music Festival in Israel, the Mother Earth Music and Arts Festival in New York and a grassroots-supported tour of Australia. Rafe is currently performing solo shows as well as working on his next record and band, The Sweetlights. He is also engaged in the writing and recording of a soundtrack and score for 100 CAMERAS.
